Binderless zeolite LTA beads with hierarchical porosity for selective CO2 adsorption in biogas upgrading

چکیده
In the context of CO2 removal from biogas, a series binderless zeolite LTA adsorbents with macroscopic bead format (0.5–1.0 mm) and hierarchical porosity (i.e. zeolitic micropores being accessible through meso- macropores mainly in 10–100 nm range) was synthesized variety Si/Al ratios (1.2–3.9) using Amberlite IRA-900 anion-exchange resin beads as hard template. The CH4 adsorption capacity Na-form different were measured, reaching higher CO2/CH4 selectivity similar, yet slightly compared to commercial pellets containing binder. Subsequently, one subjected degrees ion-exchange (0–96%) KCl then tested CH4. best performance among all ion-exchanged achieved Na58K42-LTA beads, which gave very high (1540). Although essentially no adsorbed on these still substantial (1.9 mmol g−1 at 0.4 bar CO2, i.e. partial pressure biogas).

Improving CO2 adsorption with new amine-functionalized Y-type zeolite
In this work, a new synthesized Y-type zeolite with an Si/Al molar ratio of 2.5 (NaY) was modified with amines, in order to probe the influence of the modification of the adsorbent’s surface on CO2 adsorption. The three selected amines were diethanolamine, tetraethylenepentamine, and 2- methylaminoethanol. The surface nature of NaY was changed after amine modification, which causes a...

We have proposed a combination of density functional theory calculations and interatomic potential-based simulations to study the structural, electronic, and mechanical properties of pure-silica zeolite Linde Type A (LTA), as well as two titanium-doped compositions. The energetics of the titanium distribution within the zeolite framework suggest that the inclusion of a second titanium atom with...
متن کاملSelective Mass Transport of CO2 Containing Mixtures through Zeolite Membranes
In this work, the main aspects regarding the permeation of mixtures containing CO2 and permanent gases such as H2 , N2 and CH4 through zeolite membranes have been investigated, focusing on the description of the mass transport mechanisms taking place inside the pores. First, a brief overview about the performance of the main zeolite membranes used in gas separation (e.g. DDR, CHA, AEI, FAU, etc...
متن کاملUtilization of CO2 fixating bacterium Actinobacillus succinogenes 130Z for simultaneous biogas upgrading and biosuccinic acid production.
Biogas is an attractive renewable energy carrier. However, it contains CO2 which limits its use for certain applications. Here we report a novel approach for removing CO2 from biogas and capturing it as a biochemical through a biological process. This approach entails converting CO2 into biosuccinic acid using the bacterial strain Actinobacillus succinogenes 130 Z, and simultaneously producing ...
